“Amazon is offering some users a whole $2 a month for only one teeny, tiny thing in return: that they route their traffic through an Amazon server so the company can keep track of which Amazon ads they’ve seen. It’s apparently been doing this for months. I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but you Should! Not! Do! That! ”
“Food company General Mills, Oreo maker, Pfizer and Volkswagen are among a growing list of brands that have temporarily paused their Twitter advertising in the wake of the takeover of the company by Elon Musk, according to people familiar with the matter. Some advertisers are concerned that Mr. Musk could scale back content moderation, which they worry would lead to an increase in objectionable content on the platform. Others are temporarily halting their ads because of the uncertainty at the company as top executives exit and Mr. Musk considers a raft of changes, some of the people said.”
“We recently discovered that when you provided an email address or phone number for safety or security purposes (for example, two-factor authentication) this data may have inadvertently been used for advertising purposes, specifically in our Tailored Audiences and Partner Audiences advertising system. ”
‘“Our mission is to expand our frontiers so that our consumers can overcome their limits. With the ‘Top of Images’ project, we achieved our positioning and placed our products in a fully contextualized manner as items that go hand in hand with these destinations, » explained Fabricio Luzzi, CEO of The North Face Brazil in a statement. According to the agency, the biggest obstacle of the campaign was updating the photos without attracting attention of Wikipedia moderators to sustain the brand’s presence for as long as possible, as site editors could change them at any time.’
“What are a few hours playing videogames and a handful of tweets worth? $1 million if you are Tyler Blevins, known to millions as « Ninja, » the world’s most-followed computer gamer. ”

“Sadly, it’s nothing new that smartphone companies use DSLR photos to fake phone camera’s capabilities. Samsung did it before, so did Huawei. And I believe many more brands do it, we just haven’t found out about it yet. I’m pretty sure that Samsung at least bought my photo legally, even though I haven’t received the confirmation of it. But regardless, this is false advertising.”
“it’s not the only user-unfriendly land grab we’ve seen Microsoft test out recently. Microsoft aborted a short-sighted attempt to scare people away from Google’s Chrome web browser in September, and it tried to shuffle Mail users to its Microsoft Edge browser any time they clicked a link, back in March.”
