The bottom line is that for all of the hype about the novelty of today’s virtual reality systems, one has only to look back at VR’s more than 60 year history or the more recent history of 3D television for a brief reality check. While virtual reality and its cousin augmented reality are likely to make inroads in the workplace as enterprise tools, it is highly unlikely that 2016 will be the year that everyone begins living in their own virtual world.

A new paper published in PLoS ONE outlines some of the major problems with the corpus of scanned books that powers Google Ngram. “It’s so beguiling, so powerful,” says Peter Sheridan Dodds, an applied mathematician at the University of Vermont who co-authored the paper. “But I think there’s a misrepresentation of what people should expect from this corpus right now.” Here are some of the problems.

Si vous venez de Facebook en suivant un lien posté par un ami, on va vous montrer un article différent de celui affiché pour le visiteur venant de Google Actualités, ce qui montre qu’il cherche à s’informer.Si je suis dans le train, j’ai davantage de temps pour lire, pourquoi ne pas me proposer une version longue ? Le niveau d’éducation peut aussi être pris en compte, si le lecteur a accepté de confier cette information sur lui.
