OpenAI’s News Corp deal licenses content from WSJ, New York Post, and more

“OpenAI has struck a deal with News Corp, the media company that owns The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, The Daily Telegraph, and others. As reported by The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI’s deal with News Corp could be worth over $250 million in the next five years “in the form of cash and credits for use of OpenAI technology.””

L’IGN lance son application mobile Cartes, Google Maps et Apple Plans taclés au passage

“Lorsque notre confrère lui demande ce qu’il reproche à Google Maps, il répond : « c’est assez simple, si vous dézoomez un petit peu (les cartes sont souvent faites pour les aires urbaines) et que vous regardez le paysage de manière générale […] on a compté que 92 % de la superficie du territoire qui est de la même couleur […] Il n’y a pas de données, c’est juste du coloriage. Ces cartes ont invisibilisé la richesse de notre territoire pour se concentrer sur des enjeux commerciaux ». Sébastien Soriano parle d’une « économie de l’attention, comme les réseaux sociaux », pour ensuite la monétiser vis-à-vis de commerces que vous allez ensuite pouvoir visiter. « Avec Cartes IGN, il est possible de connaître le type de culture d’un champ, les essences d’une forêt ou la composition d’une plage (sable ou galets) », explique l’Institut.”

The EPA is cracking down on cybersecurity threats

““Foreign governments have disrupted some water systems with cyberattacks and may have embedded the capability to disable them in the future,” the enforcement alert says. One example it cites is Volt Typhoon, a People’s Republic of China state-sponsored cyber group that has “compromised the IT environments of multiple critical infrastructure organizations,” according to a Department of Homeland Security advisory issued in February.”
